Set in 1970's England with David Bowie and Marc Bolan playing on the radio. There is a chemical reaction in cigarettes due to additives the tobacco companies put in to make them more addictive. Smokers become the undead with murderous intent. The zombies don't move fast, but are relentless and keep on coming, looking for human flesh to eat. The hero of the story is a sixteen-year-old more interested in discovering sex with his girlfriend than having to survive in an apocalypse situation. Of course the first to fall to the smoking zombie plague are the teachers. Even the ones that didn't smoke turned, due to the passive smoking in the teachers staff room. Prior to the turning, the staff room was always a fug of smoke. An impossible place to breath safely. The school children are mostly fully alive, except for the few who breathed in the fumes in the back of the car on the way to school with their parents. One or two students around the back of the bike sheds have succumbed to the infection and have joined the zombie teachers on the hunt for live meat. Our hero and two of his friends escape the classroom with the one teacher still not a zombie getting in the first kill. Blood, guts, brain matter, shit, vomit and gore along with a pervasive stench from all the death reigning in the school. Danny and his mates have to get through the place to find his girlfriend, Sarah before she is eaten or turned into a zombie too.
